Social justice is the movement towards a world where all people have basic human rights and equal access to benefits in their society. Social justice is an active response to the injustices and inequalities in our world. Many groups of people have faced discrimination and been treated unjustly throughout history and even today. Because of this, justice cannot simply be about removing all bias, but must rather include showing bias towards those suffering injustice to “balance the scales” more evenly.
It is clear in the Bible that if we want to worship God, we must also do justice. The following resources have been created so that individuals, groups and congregations can become more informed, and better equipped to pray and act with wisdom and compassion.
- Social Justice : Worship Aids
- Social Justice: Additional Resources
- Social Justice: A Group Study
- Justice Journey: An Adventure to Change the World (This is a package of materials from a junior youth councils/day-long kids event that teaches kids to respond to injustice and create justice in a fun way.)
